Policies for the Core Group

Core Group Meetings & Responsibilities

The PMN Core Group meets weekly to discuss PMN business. Initially the Core Group consisted of the founding members of the organization who represent a specific professional classification. New members are brought in as outlined below.

Admittance to the Core Group is a privilege. Members who violate that privilege by frequent absences, lapses in commitment and/or professionalism or otherwise do not consistently demonstrate the Core Group Principles will receive a warning that their membership is in jeopardy. If there is no discerniblechange in behavior, the member will continue as part of the NetWorking Group, but will forfeit his or her spot in the Core Group.

Membership in the PMN Core Group requires a nominal fee to pay for advertising costs. PMN advertising campaigns may include regular coupon mailings, a website with special listings for each Core Group member, direct event mailing as well as periodic newspaper and TV advertising. The treasurer determines fees based on the budget and fund availability, and then obtains approval by the Core Group.

To help build and maintain the viability of the group, each member is responsible for taking on specific tasks including, but not limited to such activities as advertising, website design and maintenance, events planning, new member recruitment, etc. To be a member in good standing, active and ongoing participation is expected.

NetWorking Group Meetings and Responsibilities

The PMN NetWorking Group meets every 6 - 8 weeks for evening events that provide for the exchange of business cards and referrals. There is no restriction on the number of persons within a particular professional classification (such as Accountant) who are allowed to attend these meetings. These events will potentially attract new Core Group and NetWorking Group members, promote the PMN organization and provide networking opportunities for all in attendance.

There is a fee for admittance to the NetWorking Group events, which each guest is individually responsible for paying. Core Group members attend evening NetWorking Group meetings in lieu of their regular morning meeting. Core Group members complete assigned tasks for evening meetings such as sitting at a welcome table, providing opening remarks, entertainment, etc.

To be admitted to the Core Group you must be a consistent member of the NetWorking Group for a reasonable amount of time, and have a sponsoring member from the Core Group. Such an individual must have outstanding attendance and be willing to abide by PMN Policies, Guidelines, & Code of Ethics. The Core Group will complete a screening process and notify the prospective member of acceptance or non-acceptance before the next Core meeting.
